A few links to some interesting projects that are going on at the moment.

My good friend Poppy has been awarded Arts Council funding for her Pangolin’s Ark Project, which is taking place in Clissold Park early in September. She is currently looking for artists submissions and ideas. Read more about it here. www.pangolins-ark.co.uk

If you are in or around London there is a great exhibition on called Feral Trade, which is an art exhibition about trading food using journeys that are already due to take place in order to reduce the amount of intensive food transportation due to trade routes. The exhibition also features a working cafe, selling local, national and international foodstuff’s delivered to the site by various traveling bodies, personal travel stories attached to the produce! Read more here. http://www.http.uk.net/exhibitions/FeralTradeCafe/index.shtml

Edinburgh festival is in full swing, taking place between the 7th and 31st August. If you are up in the area I will be working on the Hide and Seek (pervasive gaming) tour, facilitating participatory games at the Forest Cafe on the 27th August. www.theforest.org.uk. If you are a woman, and fancy exploring the power of your naked body, and resisting the immediate sexualization of the revealed female form, why not volunteer to join the naked hoards of ladies performing in the new feminist show Trilogy, conceived and curated by artist Nic Green. www.thearches.co.uk. To get involved call Erin on 0141 565 1011 or email erin@thearches.co.uk.

It seems like there’s lots more to say, but I’ll stop getting excited about the interactive and alternative folds of culture for now. If you’re in London on Saturday 22nd August why not stroll on over to the brilliant Treehouse Gallery to participate in Feast of Strangers lunchtime gathering. Check it out here. www.thetreehousegallery.org. Get time booked off work to get your working minds, hands and hearts to Climate Camp London which is happening between 26thAugust – 2nd September and participate in the strengthening of an alternative, sustainable culture. Build, meet, learn and take action. www.climatecamp.org.uk.

Enjoy!
