FableFleet is a personal project that has officially been borne! I have received a grant from Vcashpoint. I am the leader of the project, but the nature of the project means that the work can only be done with an engaged team of fellow investigator, artists, designers and communicators. The project is in its baby stages at present but there is a huge amount of potential here, and I have plans to make FableFleet my creative / sociological / environmental priority over the next couple of years. Please see details of the first funders of this project below.

FableFleet is an ongoing inter disciplinary collaborative research project that I plan to get big time funding for in the next few years, aiming to research, document, and archive regional folkstories steeped in local landscapes. Lets rediscover the stories lying in our landscapes, and the wonderful people who are in possession of them!

FableFleet is a collaborative project that aims to engage a range of artists, academics, researchers and audiences throughout the life cycle of the project. Regional projects will be conducted in specific communities and will take between 3 – 6 months to complete. This is so FableFleet engages thoroughly with local audiences, can conduct detailed research and also allows a time frame to deliver educational outreach workshops to local audiences who live and work within the area that the stories stem from.

At present I am concentrating on exploring the private stories of individuals from communities and environments that are already suffering from the effects of climate change. This prominent environmental aspect to FableFleet is a relatively new slant and still under development, but I have been thinking about how to incorporate a positive environmental facet into this project for a while now. The personalisation of stories surrounding climate change issues could be a great platform to deliver the real problematic social impact of climate change. Climate Change needs to be delivered through real life stories, not political debate or exclusive inaccessible governmental discussions.
