FableFleet is a self initiated research project that exists to research and document narratives and folk lores that are closely linked to specific landscapes and environments from particular regions and communities within Great Britain. The project is in it’s early years, or year but exists to identify stories specific to location and engage local audiences with a sense of their own heritage and identity, reuniting people with their land and each other. I believe that identifying and archiving (protecting) regional folk lores and individual stories, people encounter a sense of value and importance embedded among their community and environment. I hope to unite and invigorate communities through investigation and presentation of local lores.

FableFleet is currently running a research project on Portobello road market, where local long term residents and stall holders will be interviewed and asked to identify and share a particular location in or near to the market that is important to them. Findings and feedback will be recorded using Film, photography and sound recordings. In March a guided Fable tour will be run, mapping local sotires of space and there will be a FableFleet stall on the Saturday market where films will be screened, photographs shown and stories told.

This is a voluntary collaborative project, and I am currently working with a team of ten. If you would like to be involved, please get in touch.
